After completing his Bachelor of Laws degree at the prestigious Kabarak University Law School, he served as an intern at the Refugee Consortium of Kenya in Dadaab. In 2019, he completed his postgraduate diploma at the Kenya School of Law and undertook pupillage at Mwaniki Gachoka and Company Advocates. Kaaya is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Commissioner for Oaths, and a co-founder of the firm.
